The "Restoring Our Humanity" exhibition was jointly created by the SGI and the Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network, and produced in response to the first World Humanitarian Summit (WHS) held in Istanbul, Turkey, in May 2016. The summit was organized to address current humanitarian crises that result mainly from conflicts and disasters. Grounded in the belief that each individual's actions and awareness can make a difference, the 20- panel exhibition was created to encourage viewers to think about what they can do at individual, community and even global levels to address the collective humanitarian challenges the world faces. It calls on viewers to reaffirm their commitment to humanity and work together toward humanistic solutions, starting from their immediate surroundings. It reflects input from people on the front lines of humanitarian crises such as aid workers, disaster-affected communities and refugees.
